IN FOCUS with Claire Fallon

IN FOCUS with Claire Fallon
n this installment of Raptor IN FOCUS, we take a closer look at Senior Forward Claire Fallon. We asked her some questions to get a better idea of who she is and what she's about. Here's what Claire said…
Name? Number?
What position do you play for the Raptors?
How long have you been playing soccer?
I've been playing soccer since I was 4 years old.
What is your favorite position?
What were/are your goals for this season?
My goal for this season is for our team to become state champs.
What regular season game are you most looking forward to? Why?
I am most looking forward to the Franklin and Brentwood games because they are usually the most competitive and I have friends from my club team on both teams.
Tell me about the most exciting sports experience you've had? An exciting game you participated in, watched, etc. (Doesn't have to be Ravenwood)
Last year in our district match against Brentwood, I scored with 30 seconds left in OT tying up the game and sending us to PKs.
What are your plans after high school?
I will be attending Belmont University where I will be majoring in Nursing and playing on the soccer team.
Why have you selected this college/colleges?
I've always loved Belmont.  It is a great fit for me to play soccer.  I love the coaches and it has a great nursing school.
Who is your favorite professional athlete and why?
I like LeBron James because he gives back to the community and he is an impressive athlete.
Who's your favorite teacher? Why is he/she your favorite?
Mrs. Ghaly is my favorite teacher because she is like a friend and a teacher and that doesn't happen often.
Do you have any mentors or anyone in your life you really look up to? Why?
I look up to my three older sisters Sarah, Lindsay and Caroline.  They are all successful people and examples of how I want to be when I get older.
Who or what inspires you?
Setting a goal and sticking to it no matter what anyone says.
Tell us about your accomplishments you are most proud of?
I am most proud of my soccer accomplishments because I have put so much time and effort into them.
Tell us about your parents/family? What they mean to you? What they do for a living? Anything else you want to share...
My parents are my support system.  They are always there for me no matter what.  I also have 3 older sisters.  They all live in different states but we're all still very close and we laugh a lot when we get together.
What kinds of activities do you do outside of Ravenwood Soccer? Church groups, mission trips, music, other sports, Etc.
I play club soccer with TSC and we travel a lot for games and tournaments.  I also work as a hostess at Stoney River.
What advice would you give to other girls who aspire to play varsity soccer at Ravenwood?
Work hard so you can earn your spot.  Also, the season is a lot of fun when we win.
When life gets challenging, what do you do to deal with the worries and stresses of life?
I like to work out and hang out with my friends.
Senior Raptor shout out: Is there someone in the community you think deserves recognition beyond your family or teachers you may have already mentioned (friend, pastor, volunteer, etc)? If so tell us about them.
Ronnie Woodard is my club soccer coach.  She teaches my teammates and me how to be successful young women on and off the field.
Tell us about the blessings you have in your life.
I have great family and friends who care a lot about me.
When you see our seniors, please thank them for their years of dedication and commitment to the Lady Raptor soccer program. We appreciate you!
